Zonked by Neil Blake

After my busy day yesterday, I was absolutely drained of all energy, but because my mind starts to race at night while reviewing my day, I had a feeling it would take a while to fall asleep. Since it was so busy, there was a lot to get caught up in reviewing to make sure that I actually fully accomplished everything I had set out to get done.

Thankfully one of the things I had to do was to get my medication from the pharmacy after I saw my doctor. This meant getting refills for the ones I was out of as well. One of those was Lorazepam, so as soon as I got home and finished the calls I had started earlier, I dropped one Lorazepam under my tongue and BAM! I was out. I even managed to also sleep in!

Polypharmacy by Neil Blake

I was doing some of my daily reading yesterday morning in Flipboard when I came upon an article with a title of the exact same question i’d Been asking myself, “Are MS Patients Using Too Many Medications?“. In the very first sentence it also introduces a new to me word, “Polypharmacy”,  that I’d never heard before but could totally and instantly relate to for the exact reason that Is also mentioned in the title, my MS. I haven’t quite finished reading it yet, as I wanted to write this and get it posted as soon as I could to hopefully start building a bit more of an audience, but am definitely going back to finish reading it.

New Canvas by Neil Blake

I went to Micheal’s to pick up a canvas for my next bit of artwork. It’s a 30”x40” Gallery Wrapped Heavy Duty canvas.  Undortunately i am only at the beginning of my creative process, which for this canvas is going to start with a pencil to draw it out first.Stay tuned here to see it as I go!

So the reason I brought this canvas was because I couldn’t find any of my other blank canvases.

I’m looking forward to getting back into painting again!

Montreal by Neil Blake

Before I moved to Vancouver, I was living in Ottawa where I had moved to be closer to a woman who would eventually, one day, become my ex-wife.

When Crystal and I first started seeing each other, she was living and working in Ottawa and I was finishing up school at Laurentian University in Sudbury. On weekends, she would come back to Sudbury. Once a month, I would drive to Ottawa and on long weekends, she and I would go to Montreal to hit the amazing clubs!

Now that I am back in Sudbury, I am once again close enough to consider partying in Montréal (680 kms vs 3,890 km).

If you’ve never been to Montreal, it would definitely be a worthwhile trip if you want to experience that old French heritage feeling. I love Montreal! I highly recommend it.

Epstein-Barr <-> MS by Neil Blake

I use Flipboard to read the news these days, as google reader doesn’t exist anymore. Today I found an article that I was surprised to finally see published that talks about a recent study which has linked the EB virus to 7 other diseases, including MS.

I got MONO when I was in OAC (grade 13, uni prep in Ontario, where I grew up) and after i was diagnosed with MS in 2013, I kind of got the idea that the EB virus and MS were somehow linked.

Now, they are talking about how the Epstein-Barr virus is linked to 7 chronic illnesses including MS.
