50 Shades Darker / by Neil Blake

I went to see 50 Shades Darker recently, and it surprised me! It surprised me in ways I'm not sure the producers and/or director intended to. Perhaps they did. How it surprised me was this:

  1. It was filmed in and around Gastown, with several scenes literally around the order from the loft my ex-wife and I used to own when we were married.
  2. the scenes looking down the alley known as Blood Alley
  3. there are several dinner scenes which also brought back memories of eating out with her after we first moved in and were exploring the neighbourhood

At the end of it, as I sat there thinking about it all and while I waited to exit the theatre, I realized that even though I recently managed to let go of my ex-wife and accept that whole situation, I still have a lot of work to do on the acceptance of my MS.
