This week... / by Neil Blake

I had a follow up appointment with my orthopaedic surgeon a few days ago. He said that my foot was healing well, but that I needed to stay in my current cast for another week. Next week, I can return to my AirCast, however, I will need to continue using my crutches, which sucks.

I also went to my first ever Alcoholics Anonymous meeting to show my support for a friend's 2 year Birthday. I was a great experience. I learned some great things about my friend, as well as saw many parallels to the common AA experience and my MS diagnosis experience.

It was a very long day, and I was on my crutches a lot, which I really felt. I had a 1 hour nap, and still, by 10pm, I was exhausted and needed to go to bed.

Back home, my Grandpa is moving into a retirement home for July 1st. My family is doing their best to get him organized and moved in, however, it's been extremely challenging for everyone involved. I saw the beginnings of what is now happening when I was home at Christmas, which is very disappointing. At the very time when families should be coming together to help and support each other, mine, unfortunately, seems to be falling apart. It's especially hard for me because I live on the other side of the country and can't help.
