Damn it raps! by Neil Blake

First, the Raptors lost Game 2 last night, unfortunately! But wow! Was it ever fun to watch! I’ve never really been a Basketball sports fan, but now that there is an official NBA team a short 4.5 hour drive south down Hwy 69 to get to the city I also like to call Tee Dot, I sure am now too! Watching the raptors paying at this level is like watching history, LIVE! :)

Once I had posted the first paragraph, I went upstairs to have dinner with my parents. That’s when Don reminded me that there was a hockey game on tonight too! It’s game 4 of the Stanley Cup Finals tonight too! Hockey wins tonight.

Raptors by Neil Blake

Thusday was Game 1 of the NBA Finals with the Toronto Raptors vs. the Golden State Warriors. The first game of NBA Finals was played in Toronto and was the time such an important game of NBA basketball was played in Canada!

The Raptors started the game strong and just kept driving hard with both strong defensive and great offensive play as well. Kawhi Leonard managed to score a total of 23 points and when combined with his teammates, who rounded up a total of 118 points versus only 109 for the Warriors, to win Game 1!

What I like about the series, is that for the first time ever, the NBA playoffs are being played in Canada, so I literally get to see history being made right in front of me… again.

Trailer by Neil Blake

I came to my parents trailer a couple of weeks ago, but it was a bit chilly all weekend, and we ended up not having a fire because it was so wet out!

So, even though I didn’t really enjoy it very much, I am back again. Last weekend was the first time coming to the trailer in a very long time and it was so miserable out I didn’t really get to enjoy it. This weekend is supposed to quite a bit nicer out!

I have some plans coming up in the very near future, but I’ll talk about those tomorrow when I get some a more detail.

Golf by Neil Blake

I was on my phone a few days ago when it beeped because I had just received a new message. It turned out to be from an old very good friend from high school. She was wondering if I had plans for today, and when I told her I didn’t, she invited me to play in a golf tournament she was setting up at a Timberwolf golf club, about a 15 mins walk away from my mom’s, so I said yes! I’ve never played Timberwolf, so I thought it would be a great opportunity to catch up with some old friends and have a chill, low stress day in the sun!

Lost by Neil Blake

I have noticed since my seizure about 6 months ago that my memory just isn’t even close to what it once was. Even though I am fully aware of this, I still manage to lose stuff at a rate that is frankly quite alarming.

For example, I recently left the house wearing my eye glasses and even though I had their case in my hand, I somehow lost both! Damn it! Now I need to spend money on new glasses.

MS Walk by Neil Blake

Today was the MS Walk. I was up early, medicated and got a ride to the check-in point. Before I knew it I found my team and we all started walking! It was a beautiful day for it as well.

Finally, I just wanted to say a huge “Thank You!” to all of those who donated!

Little Montreal by Neil Blake

Ever since I visited Montreal when I was a child, I have always loved Montreal! In fact, i used to say that Montreal was my second favourite Canadian cIty, after Vancouver of course! However, i just left Vancouver to move back home to Sudbury 6 weeks ago, and even though I haven’t been too keen to start hitting the bars here in town again… until I remembered a place called “Little Montreal”.

This place wasn’t here back before I moved to Ottawa, but because Ottawa is only a couple of hours drive away, Crystal and would LOVE going to Montreal for the weekend, but that was a while ago!

MS Support Group by Neil Blake

Yesterday was the day I got to meet up with my local MS support group. It was a really great meeting as they usually are.

There was also one lady who I just seemed to click with. We just kept looking at each other and smiling! Of course I didn’t ask her for her number in front of a room full of beautiful women, but I did give here one of my business cards so that she could contact me if she wanted to.

This morning when I woke up, I checked my phone as I usually do as soon as I wake up to find a message from her! We’re going to have to wait and see what happens.

Timmy TuesdaY by Neil Blake

As I sit here at my local Tim Hortons drinking a large Oreo Ice Capp (my all time favourite!) I’m sitting here thinking about how absolutely against my diet it is.

I started going to the gym a week ago, but it’s a 6 week challenge so I NEED to keep going, and so I am going to!

Back to the cIty by Neil Blake

My parents and I went to their trailer to get it all set up for the summer last Friday. Originally, I thought we were going to have some good weather, but NOPE there was no good weather to be had at all, so we came home early. It’s been nice to shower in my own, clean, warm bathroom again.

Another huge advantage for me is that my dab rig is set up at my dabbing “station” downstairs which is also where I sleep! In a bed with an amazing electric blanket on my bad to keep me warm at night. If it hadn’t been for that, there is no way I would have been able to sleep by myself down here in the basement because it was so fucking cold!

Trailer times by Neil Blake

One advantage to being back home is heading out to their trailer on the West Arm of Lake Nipissing. Now, it’s early in the season, summer hasn’t even officially arrived yet, but this is the pretty much the weekend where it all starts.

I’m not a huge fan of mosquitoes, so this going to get interesting as some point I’m sure!

Lowest Of the low by Neil Blake

My parents and I just finished selling pots of mini carnation flowers for Mother’s Day to raise money for the MS Society. After we were done, we went back straight to the office to meet up and drop off all the money and few pots of flowers. It actually turned out quite well, as we sold almost everything we had picked up earlier.

Unfortunately, someone broke into the MS Society office the very next day and stole everything!!!

I really hope these guys get caught!

Ticks in Ontario by Neil Blake

As someone with MS, an autoimmune illness, the last thing I need is to be bitten by a tick carrying Lyme Disease, again, an autoimmune illness. I was just flipping through Flipboard when I came upon an article talking about how it’s predicted to be really bad this year. Maybe bad enough for me to have to leave for a bit. I’m going to have to start thinking about where I want to go next…

EEG by Neil Blake

This was the machine I was plugged into for the EEG I had this morning. It was also my first EEG, but it is so easy, you just lay there and do nothing except open and close your eyes and look at the flashing light.

Anyway, not sure when I’ll get the results, but we’ll see.

Neurologist Visit by Neil Blake

I’m currently sitting here in the waiting room at my neurologist’s office in Bracebridge, a short 3 hour drive from Sudbury. This will be the second time that I see Dr. Ursell since morning back home in Sudbury. I can definitely tell her that I feel so much better since she changed a bunch of my meds.

I can’t wait to get to see her again before my EEG tomorrow.
